HUSQVARNA HOT IN NATIONAL ENDURO OPENER
AMA/Rekluse Enduro Series Kicks Off In The Georgia Pines

February 3, 2010 - Sumter, GA - Despite cold and wet conditions, Team Husqvarna has started off the 2010 AMA National Enduro season hot as Glenn Kearney posted a fantastic 6th overall finish. Kearney battled a virtual Who's Who of Eastern woods racing regulars as well as many established GNCC stars who grabbed the opportunity to mix it up with the Enduro crowd. "This being my first race of the year and my first-ever AMA National Enduro, I am pleased with my result," says the affable Aussie. "I'd hoped for a top 5 finish, but I am pleased with 6th given the conditions."

Aboard his Ben Kearney-prepped 2010 Husqvarna TXC250, Glenn waged a battle that improved with each passing mile. Highlights included winning the 5th Special Test with an impressive 36-second margin of victory. It was a learning experience for Glenn, but a good one as he had to learn this whole new format for racing on the fly! "The course was tighter and more technical than expected - lots and lots of trees! But at the end of the day I had fun and this new TXC 250 was fantastic," he adds. "I have only ridden it four times and today it was flawless!"

According to Kearney, the special test sections proved challenging, but he continued to pick up speed as the hours wore on. "I ended up winning the 5th special test by a good margin (36-seconds) despite the fact that it was quite sandy, winding through the woods and rougher than the other specials."

Making the new year even brighter for Kearney is the fact that he's in better health than last season when he rode more than one event with a broken ankle. "I just had the plates and screws removed from my ankle, so I'm feeling better. Still not 100% but much better than 2009! I'm happy that my brother Ben is here wrenching for me this season." (NOTE: Ben Kearney is no slouch in the saddle himself having won the 2009 Australia Enduro Championship). "I also have some new sponsors supporting me for the 2010 season that I would like to give a shout out to, including SHIFT apparel, Scott goggles and LeoVince exhausts."

ZIP-TY RACING COMES OUT SWINGING AT WORCS ROUND 1
Davis Dominant Vet Pro, Garrison On The Gas!

January 31, 2010 - Speed World Raceway, Phoenix, AZ - Veteran racer and team owner Ty Davis led his Zip-Ty Husqvarna Racing team to a great 2010 WORCS season start with impressive performances in three different classes. Davis used Saturday's 30-A class event for a warm up and recon which paid dividends as he went on to win the Vet Pro class in dominating fashion. The 40-year-old Hesperia, CA desert dweller also lead most of the 40-A class race until a radiator puncture finally forced his 2010 Husqvarna WR300 2-stroke to a halt.

"The first two races went smoothly with no problems at all. I felt good and my WR300 was performing well until a rock or stick poked a hole in the radiator," reflected Davis. "I guess I should be surprised that the bike ran as long as it did without coolant but if it would have lasted one more lap, it would have been a flawless weekend!"

In WORCS Pro Class action, Zip-Ty Racing's newest rider Bobby Garrison posted a convincing 11th place overall finish on his 2010 Husqvarna TC450. A so-so start had the young hotshoe finishing the first lap well back in 25th position, but he settled in and began a methodical charge through the pack. According to bossman Davis, Garrison kicked it up a notch, increasing his speed as each minute ticked by.

"Bobby was on a charge, picking off rider after rider... and as the race wore on I could see that both his speed and confidence increased," said Davis. Despite being hit with a 2 minute penalty for going around a hay bale after he had worked his way up to 6th, Garrison stayed on the gas. When all was said and done Bobby was in 11th place, just shy of the top 10 finish he'd hoped for.

"My new TC450 worked great all day," said an exhausted, yet elated Garrison. "I felt really comfortable on the bike and I realize now that the extra testing we did prior to this race paid off. I spun at the line and didn't get the start I needed, but I'm pumped that I was able to battle back and nearly break the top 10. I'm looking forward to Round 2. Who knows? With a little better start I'm looking forward to getting up front and racing for a podium."

GRAFFUNDER GRITS IT OUT IN BARCELONA
Team Husqvarna Rider Makes Euro EnduroCross Main

January 30, 2010 - Barcelona, Spain - While Stateside racing kept his Husqvarna North America teammates busy, Zip-Ty Husqvarna extreme event specialist Cory Graffunder traveled overseas to participate in the final round of the FIM World EnduroCross Championship Series. The likeable Canadian export was rewarded for his trip to Spain with a very solid 10th place overall against the best extreme riders in the world.

In his qualifying heat race Graffunder scored an impressive and hard fought 3rd place finish just behind world-beaters Taddy Blazusiak and Ivan Cervantes. The fact Blazusiak went undefeated in the Euro EnduroCross series makes Graffunder's ability to not only maintain the pace, but push Taddy a little really says something. This turn of speed was enough to put him into main event's three moto evening program where Cory logged a best finish of 7th place. "Man, those guys are good!" Graffunder remarked. "My strategy was to ride strong and not to push it too hard. A little mistake can cost you the night, so it is very important to avoid crashes," explained Graffunder. "I came all the way over here to gain a little experience and to get acclimated for Hell's Gate next week. I've been training hard and I look forward to competing against the best Extreme Enduro riders in the world."
