April 14, 2010 - Woodcliff Lake, NJ - In front of a packed house and facing a field of top level-talent, Husqvarna had a great racing weekend at California's Glen Helen Raceway. Bobby Garrison won the MTA World 2-Stroke Championship and Cory Graffunder grabbed the EnduroCross round at the same venue. This marks Husqvarna's first overall EnduroCross win and the first major U.S. motocross title in more than a decade! Motocross Action magazine called the 2-Stroke World Championship "a race you have to see to believe" and young Garrison had the crowd believing that Husqvarna is back as he battled to the win aboard his 2010 WR300. "This was one of the best races I have seen in year," said an enthused Zip-Ty Team Husqvarna boss Ty Davis. "We were all standing at the edge of the track cheering!" The second moto went much smoother, and Garrison stayed with the lead pack for most of the race, riding smart while other competitors started crashing out. "I finished the moto in 2nd place, which gave me the overall win. Everything just fell in place today and my Husqvarna worked great all day long." Held in conjunction with the 2-Stroke Championship at Glen Helen was round #1 of the Maxxis EnduroCross Series. Although the racing discipline was drastically different and the bikes changed from 2-strokes to 4-strokes, the results remained the same as Canadian export Cory Graffunder completely dominated aboard his Zip-Ty Racing Husqvarna TC250. Starting with an excellent qualifying position in the afternoon, Graffunder remained on the gas all day!
The evening program called for a three-moto main event format which played out almost perfectly for Cory. He grabbed the holeshot and lead wire-to-wire in the first moto. A slight bobble saw Cory finish a close second to Colton Hacker in the second moto, but he was back on track for the third moto, leading from start to finish and winning by a wide 20 second margin."This was a good start to the series and I hope to keep it up," claims Cory. "The Husqvarna TC250 ran great all night." With things going nearly perfectly, Graffunder says he is really looking forward to the next round and another dominating performance for his hot Husqvarna. "All in all, it was another great weekend for Team Husqvarna and Zip-Ty Racing," says Husqvarna North America Race Director Scot Harden. "With our race wins, $11+ million contingency program and 6.99% financing on 2009 and 2010 models, there is no question that Husqvarna is back!"
